Professor K. B. Sharpless visits Chem125 in 2008
Professor Sharpless was visitimg the chemistry department in 2008 and agreed to speak to the Chem125 class the next morning. The video is online and lasts ~50 minutes. At minute 2, he is introduced by Professor McBride. Minute 22 starts a discussion on the synthesis of esomeprazole (Nexium), a chiral sulfoxide drug. The demonstration conducted by both professors is quite entertaining---to say the least.
